Fire rated glass continuing education course comes online in BC
SAFTI FIRST, a leading North American manufacturer of advanced fire rated glass and framing systems, has announced that its Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) registered continuing education program “Designing with Fire Rated Glass (Canada)” (0.75 AIBC Core Learning Unit) is now available in a convenient on-demand video program that architects can take anytime, anywhere through its website, linked here.
According to the company, this on-demand program empowers architects to choose the correct and code approved fire rated glazing product for every application based on current NBC code and testing requirements, as well as learn how today’s advanced fire rated glazing products enhance a building’s overall design and performance. Architects can receive 0.75 AIBC Core LU and learn about fire and safety rated requirements in the National Building Code of Canada.

“We’re incredibly excited to offer this program. To our knowledge, it is the first and only ‘on demand’ program of its kind available in Canada,” says Tim Nass, VP of Sales at SAFTI FIRST. “There are enough unique qualities to the National Building Code and fire rated product applications that we felt it was necessary to create this program. We get several inquiries a day from Canada from architects that are very interested in learning more in-depth information about how to utilize these progressive, transparent barriers in their designs and buildings.”
Hosted by Tim Nass, VP of Sales at SAFTI FIRST, the on-demand program includes various safety and fire testing videos, animated charts and other high-impact visuals designed to sustain the viewer’s interest and help them retain valuable information. To receive AIBC credit, participants must complete and pass the required quiz after the taking the program. Architects outside of AIBC may consult with their local provincial organization to see if successful completion of this program is eligible for reciprocal credits.
