Fire Performance in Wood Buildings Workshops

Two workshops are taking place in Ottawa and Toronto on March 17, 2014 and March 18, 2014.

Steven Street, Technical Director of Ontario Wood WORKS! provides the introduction to the workshop along with a  brief overview of construction site safety and security related to wood construction. Other topics include: Fire and Safety Risks Posed by Wood Frame Residential Construction; Wood Use According to the Code; The Application of NFPA 13 and 13R – And How to Use Sprinklers to Your Building Code Advantage; Flame Spread and the Building Code; Proposed Code Changes for Mid-rise Combustible Construction; Fire Resistance Rating Information and Tools; Alternative Solutions under the Building Code; and a Q&A Panel with presenters Len Garis, Randal Brown and Ineke Van Zeeland, which provides an opportunity for participants to ask questions of the day’s speakers.

The Ottawa workshop takes place on Monday, March 17, 2014 in the MacDonald Room of the Chateau Laurier, located at 1 Rideau Street. The Toronto workshop takes place on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the Eastwood Room at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Road in Woodbridge.
