Charlotte Perriand: her legacy and vision of design

June 08, 2016
5333 Avenue Casgrain, Montréal, H2T 1X6

Index-Design presents for the third year the Master Class series with Pernette Perriand-Barsac, daughter of Charlotte Perriand, exploring the development of success stories in the field of design entrepreneurship.

These are meetings where we connect international architects and designers with the Quebec market in a shared goal of knowledge and best practices. With aims to inspire the Quebec designers and entrepreneurs through training and interaction sessions, the Master Class allows industry professionals to access the wealth of information and experiences of great designers.

This series of conferences also strives to bring awareness to the progress of design in Quebec and contributes to its international influence. By creating these meetings, Index-Design is positioned as a reference of design in Quebec.

Charlotte Perriand

Charlotte Perriand, visionary architect and designer, was one of the precursors of the avant-garde movement. In 1927 at age 24, she began working with Le Corbusier, who gave birth to several creations that forever marked the collective imagination. She enjoyed professional success early with his “Bar sous le toit” and continued that momentum by leaving us, among others, the design of the famous LC4 chair.

Pernette Perriand-Barsac and Jacques Barsac will be in Montreal to discuss the legacy left by Charlotte Perriand, and her unique design vision.
