1220 Homer Street, Vancouver, B.C.

A series of events focusing on the relationship of Wellness and the Built Environment. This month’s event, to be held at Perkins+Will’s office features presentations by Kathy Wardle on “Why Materials Matter?” and Mona Lemoine on “Regenerative Development and Design”.

“Why Materials Matter?”

This presentation will provide an argument for why organizations should care about healthy materials, industry trends and the transformation that is occurring in the product development industry, and the tools that can support designers on projects.

Kathy Wardle is an Associate Principal and Director of Research at Perkins+Will. She plays an instrumental role in the development of high-performance green building projects, such as Dockside Green, UBC Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) and VanDusen Botanical Garden Visitor Centre.

“Regenerative Development and Design”

The continuing health and wellness of living systems, including ours, requires creating outcomes that are harmonious and firmly rooted in place.

Mona Lemoine is devoted to playing an active role in creating a positive impact in the world through whole systems design and strategy, education and advocacy. A registered architect and Regenerative Practitioner, Mona is a project manager with McLennan Design, an architecture and planning practice that uses an ecological perspective to drive design creativity.
