Green Blankstein Russell Architects project

January 15 - February 28, 2017
Millennium Library Park, Smith St, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M5

Exhibits at Millennium library and Centennial Concert Hall, Concourse level, as well as several GBR designed buildings.

The Winnipeg Architecture Foundation has been researching and documenting the architectural firm Green Blankstein Russell (GBR) Architects, now owned by Stantec. We chose GBR as the first firm for intensive research and publication because of the contribution to western Canada design and the disappearance of the name.

We have added several hundred buildings to the website, as well as biographies for dozens of architects, engineers and interior designers who worked at GBR. A book about the firm will be published later this year.

Stantec and former GBR employees and employee family members have shared a wealth of original drawings, documents and ephemera about GBR personnel and their projects. We have been adding all of this information to the website, as quickly as we can. It can also be viewed at the WAF office.
