Film Screening: The Story Behind Toronto’s New City Hall

November 03, 2016
111 Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario

Toronto’s City Hall is an iconic building that needs no introduction, yet the events leading up to the construction of Revell’s civic masterpiece have largely been forgotten. The film A Finn with an Oyster explores the now little-remembered history of the unprecedented international architectural competition, its planning and building, and its subsequent impact on the life of the city. The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Michael Kainer and producer Karen Teeple.

Presented as part of the Gardiner Museum’s exhibition True Nordic: How Scandinavia Influenced Design in Canada.
