COBRA is our annual construction, building and real estate research conference. Next year’s event will be held in Toronto, Canada on 19-22 September 2016.

RICS in partnership with George Brown College, presents the world’s leading annual construction, building and real estate research conference dedicated to providing stimulating debate and discussions between researchers from around the world, providing the basis for new areas of research for construction.

Full paper submittal deadline: 05 February 2016
Reviews/recommendations: 25 March 2016
Conference registration opens: 13 April 2016 (previously 28 March)
Early bird conference registration closes: 24 June 2016
Final paper deadline: 8 July 2016
Conference registration closes: 22 August 2016

Papers will only be published in the proceedings if the author (one of the authors in case of multi author papers) has registered and paid for the conference by 22 August 2016. COBRA requires at least one author to register and attend the conference.

What are some of the special features of COBRA?

A high-level research conference

All papers that are submitted to COBRA are subject to review, at both the abstract and full paper stage, to ensure relevance, rigour and topicality.

Doctoral session

Giving doctoral students an opportunity to present their work in a supportive and encouraging fashion, enabling them to develop and refine their work and to discuss their research with their peers and colleagues.

Attending the conference

The venue is Marriott Courtyard Toronto Downtown.

The conference fee includes full access to all days of the conference, welcome reception on Monday evening and the conference dinner on Tuesday evening. The fee also includes accommodation for one night on Monday 19 September (double room, single occupancy). Additional nights can be booked directly with the hotel by quoting COBRA Conference.

The early bird rate is available until Friday 24 June. Discounted rates for doctorate students are available. A signed form confirming eligibility must be returned or the full delegate fee will be due.

Additional places can be booked at the conference welcome reception and dinner for colleagues and guests.
