The goal of this Milwaukee competition is to create a significant public place that will be substantially completed by July 2006. The total project cost, including design and construction, is estimated at $850,000. The Erie Street Plaza will become a critical component of Milwaukee’s waterfront and new development in the Third Ward. Maps and photographs are available on the competition’s website.
Three or four finalists will be given a $15,000 stipend to develop their proposal. The selected firm will design the small plaza.
The RFQ is due September 16, 2005, with the selection and notification of up to 8 semifinalists on September 23, 2005.
