On May 12, 2016, Smith + Andersen hosted Eco Jam 2016 with TSA at the historic Masonic Temple, an annual benefit concert in support of planting trees across Ontario.

Guests included OAA and TSA members who enjoyed tours of the iconic building now owned and occupied by Info-Tech Research Group.  Classic rock spanning the decades was performed by more than fifty Smith + Andersen clients including architects and developers from architectsAlliance, B + H Architects, Bentall Kennedy, Diamond Schmitt, Daniels, Ellis Don, iNStudio, HOK, Humphrey’s Architects, Montgomery Sisam, Moriyama Teshima, NORR, Perkins Will, Quadrangle and Zeidler.

Sustainable design and engineering are a key consideration in Smith + Andersen’s projects, who acknowledge the importance of trees to the construction industry and our ecosystems.  This year the architects, designers, developers and engineers in our community raised funds to plant 2,718 trees, bringing the total Eco Jam trees planted by Forests Ontario to 7,994 in the years since the event began in 2013.
