Taking place from December 3-4, 2014 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre North, IIDEXCanada 2014 includes a wide array of events for architecture professionals such as keynotes, exhibitions, new products, special features, and more.
IIDEXCanada is now part of The Buildings Show, North America’s largest exposition, networking and educational event for the built environment. In addition to IIDEXCanada, The Buildings Show also includes the Real Estate Forum, HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo and Construct Canada. In total, the show has 35,000 influential buyers and decision-makers of the design, construction and real-estate industries attending to experience more than 1,600 exhibits, 350 seminars, and four world-class keynotes, delivering the very latest in products, technologies, best practices and applications.
Keynote Daniel Libeskind will talk about his most recent work on the Keilhauer Keynote Theatre Stage on the show floor on Thursday at 4:00pm. The day before, on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, Canadian Architect sponsors a presentation by keynote David Nam, partner in charge of Gehry Partners’ new project, Mirvish + Gehry Toronto, who will be in conversation with iconic Toronto developer David Mirvish.
Another event not to be missed is 2015 and Beyond: State of the Industry Panel Discussion on Thursday at 12:00pm. Join the Presidents of the RAIC | Architecture Canada, BOMA Canada, CoreNet, and the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) as they reveal and discuss their predictions for 2015. And on Thursday at 10:30am, enjoy a special Pecha Kucha session, where participants will accompany their slides with a dynamic rapid-fire presentation on a wide array of topics.
Startup Space is another highlight to be experienced at IIDEXCanada. Here on display are three conceptual spaces for the startup tech community by Quadrangle Architects and Herman Miller; Bartlett + Associates and Henderson Resource Group; and Denegri Bessai Studio with the Carpenters’ Union and Plas-tech. Finally, IIDEX Woodshop returns with 15 new wood prototypes made from diseased ash, from funeral caskets to lighting, and everything in between.
