Diamond Schmitt Wins Rock The Joint: Battle Of The Bands Competition
Last Thursday, the AEC sector rocked the Mod Club stage with a group of bands competing for the Rock the Joint Champion title, to raise funds for the Arthritis Society.
Rock the Joint Battle of the Bands started last year, extending the Arthritis Society’s 10-years of just Rock the Joint, which wasn’t the competitive smackdown of bands.
The idea originated from EllisDon, who suggested to the Society that there was a depth of talent within the AEC sector and a willingness to support charitable causes.
The evening, emceed by Jeff Leake, SiriusXM Canada’s Director of Music Programming, brimmed with excitement from participating bands, which included Diamond Schmitt, Entuitive, EllisDon, IBI Group, Quadrangle, and MCW.
A judge of music industry professionals formed by Kevin Goodman, Chief Entertainment Officer at Front Row Centre Marketing; Ralph James, President, APA Agency; and Lisa Logutenkow, GM, The Orchard Canada, selected Diamond Schmitt’s Thundertrüss as the winning performance.
This year, the total amount raised for the Arthritis Society was $62,155.
