Creating Accessible Communities Workshop
The Design Exchange Universal Design Workshop Series continues with its next offering in its professional development series. This workshop takes place on April 27, 2005 from 10:00am-3:30pm at the Town of Markham, Canada Room, 1010 Town Centre Boulevard in Markham. The fee is $40 or $30 for DX members.
Creating Accessible Communities will showcase and explore how communities are approaching and achieving universal access. Both existing and new planned community examples will be considered. As well, topics on visible and flexible housing will be covered. Best practices will also be presented, drawing examples from various locations, with a focus on the Town of Markham. The facilitator for the event is Kevin Duguay, Planner, Land Use, City of Peterborough, and the keynote presentation will be made by Markham’s Mayor, W. Donald Cousens. Planners, architects, developers, and community-elected officials are encouraged to attend.
