Conscious Consumption: Crafting the City
What do I consume?
How and where are things made?
What makes “craft” craft?
And does it matter to me?
Hear big ideas, get the inside scoop! Join the Textile Museum of Canada as they explore how the idea of craft has become part of philosophies of a more responsible life, driving artisanal and sustainable movements today. Each event in the series gets up close and personal with places and people who have pioneered ways of life that are innovative and independent, and who have introduced new elements to the landscape—from urban agriculture and alternative architectures to craft foodways and sustainable fashion.
Conscious Consumption: Crafting the City focuses on essentials—food, shelter, clothing—and how craft is an inherent part of practices that are a defining part of sustainable lifestyles today.
