Come Up To My Room
Come Up To My Room is an alternative design show focusing on the diverse practices that work outside the norms of traditional design; an edgy showcase for Canadian contemporary art and design practices. This year, the 7th annual Come Up To My Room is part of the inaugural Toronto International Design Festival, bringing top Canadian and International design talent to multiple locations across the city of Toronto
The event takes place from January 20-24, 2010 on the second floor of the Gladstone Hotel, located at 1214 Queen Street West in Toronto, requiring an exhibition/reception of $8 which includes a catalogue. Admission is free to the LoveDESIGN Party which kicks off at 10:00pm on Saturday, January 23.
In 2009, Come Up To My Room founding curators Pamila Matharu and Christina Zeidler passed the torch and mentored four young curators, encouraging and freeing them to create a new and ground-breaking show. They are proud to reintroduce the 2010 curatorial collective of Katherine Morley, Caroline Shaheed, Jeremy Vandermeij and Deborah Wang.
