City of Toronto Mayoral Candidate Panel Discussion
The Design Exchange (DX), in partnership with Toronto Society of Architects (TSA), is hosting a mayoral panel discussion on June 4, 2010 regarding Toronto’s built future. The discussion will be moderated by Samantha Sannella, President and CEO of the Design Exchange and its Board of Directors.
The design of our city tells the story of our past and paves the way to our future. As Canada’s Design Centre, the DX is committed to fostering economic growth and recognizes the design disciplines as key elements in the quality of our lives, the economic value of our city and the sustainability of our environment.
Architecture, urban design and urban planning constitute some of the most visible aspects of our city, shaping the places where we all live, work, and play. The DX is proud to open its historic trading floor to the top six mayoral candidates, where they will present and discuss various topics regarding Toronto’s built future. Each of the candidates will express his or her ideas and visions for the future, and address the issues surrounding the livability, economic viability and sustainability of Toronto. Specific questions will be presented and an inspiring discussion will unfold.
The panel discussion runs from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, followed by a VIP reception from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Both events take place at the Design Exchange, located at 234 Bay Street in Toronto.
Admission to the panel discussion is free. Cost of attending the VIP reception is $65 ($50 for members), which includes reserved priority seating at the panel discussion, access to the reception and one drink ticket. For tickets, please contact Laura Brewer at laura@dx.org or at 416.216.2114.
