CitiesAlive! Toronto Launch Event and Workshop

This workshop takes place from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 at the Toronto Botanical Garden located at 777 Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto. The event will be of interest to architects and landscape architects, engineers, roofing professionals and contractors, policy makers, planners, policy makers, NGOs, academics and researchers interested in the field of Green Infrastructure (inclusive of green roofs, walls and urban greenery).

Through the workshop, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and the City of Toronto are helping to build the culture of green infrastructure in Ontario, improving our communities and quality of life, and broadening public and political awareness of the multiple benefits of green roofs, green walls and urban forests as part of the built environment.

Learn about integrating natural systems and processes with site and structure from keynote speaker Paul Kephart, a renowned expert in ecological consulting and vegetated systems design. Hear the latest news and research about green infrastructure policy. Enjoy presentations on cutting-edge North American green infrastructure case studies, including the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Ottawa War Museum, Windsor school projects, Green Walls and more. Network with members of the Ontario chapter of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and other professionals in the field of Green Infrastructure. Be on hand for the official launch announcement of the World Green Infrastructure Network’s inaugural Congress entitled CitiesAlive! 2009, taking place in Toronto in October 2009.

The registration fee is $199 for a delegate (limited to 150), $79 for a non-profit delegate (limited to 50), and a 10′ x 8′ exhibition booth costs $500 (limited to 10).

Participants seeking self reporting education credits may request certificates of attendance for submission to their professional association following the event.
