Card Yard at BIG on Bloor Festival
On the weekend of July 19-20, 2014, Senayah Design and PULP will create another dynamic activity hub at Toronto’s BIG on Bloor street festival in Bloordale. Building on last year’s success with Card Yard, interactive and community-led programming will be curated in a pop-up public realm designed and constructed of repurposed materials. Their goal this year is to enable collaboration between participating artists and programmers in the development of the space, so that activities and installations can reinforce one another to create a beautiful, comfortable and stimulating space.
Card Yard seeks to present interactive projects stations by artists, architects, poets and social activists, community organizations to create a participation village specifically for Bloordale’s BIG on Bloor Festival. The festival is a high-profile event that saw 85,000 visitors last year, and it keeps growing.
Card Yard runs from 1:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, and from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm on Sunday. This event is in partnership with Senayah Design, BIG: Bloor Improvement Group, and Bloordale BIA.
