Canadians win five of eleven Wood Design Awards

Eleven awards were selected from a total of 233 Canadian and American submissions, representing some of the leading architectural design in wood from the US and Canada. Five of these award-winners are Canadian, and their projects were published in the most recent issue of Wood Le Bois magazine.

The winners are as follows:

*Honour Award: PLANT Architect of Toronto for Conservation Piece
*Citation Award: Bing Thom Architects Inc. of Vancouver for Surrey Central City
*Citation Award: Florian Maurer Architect of Naramata for Naramata Residence and Studio
*Citation Award: Brian Mackay-Lyons of Halifax for Ghost 6 Research Laboratory
*Citation Award: McFarlane Green Architecture + Design for the Prince George Airport Expansion

The jury was comprised of Bruce Kuwabara of Toronto’s Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects, Hsin-ming Fung of Hodgetts and Fung Design Associates in Los Angeles, and Margaret Helfand of Helfand Architecture in New York.
