Canadian modern furniture retailer EQ3 unveils second capsule collection in support of the Michalle Jean Foundation
With a core commitment to corporate social responsibility, and, in partnership with the Michaëlle Jean Foundation, modern furniture retailer EQ3 introduces its second Generation Art capsule collection, available in stores this fall.
“As a proud Canadian company we are thrilled to produce this year’s Generation Art collection showcasing local talent of all ages and walks of life, and their personal expressions of diversity,” said Peter Tielmann, President and CEO, EQ3. “It gives us great pride to continue to support the Michaëlle Jean Foundation to better the lives of underserved youth while strengthening social change across the nation.”
For this edition of the Generation Art collection, EQ3 asked Canadians of all ages to submit artwork that represents their personal expression of Canadian diversity. The designs of seven Canadians were selected and produced onto décor accessories including pillows, bean bags, ottomans, napkins, mugs and serving platters. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Generation Art collection will support FMJF’s youth initiatives – making this the perfect gift that gives back for the holiday season.
“We are working together to see the power of the arts and artists in Canada help transform the lives of youth at risk and revitalize their communities. Our continued partnership with EQ3 enables us to take another step towards achieving our mission,” explains Rt. Hon Michaëlle Jean and Jean-Daniel Lafond, Co-Founders and Co-Chairs, Michaëlle Jean Foundation.
The first Generation Art collection launched in October 2011 expressing artists’ interpretation on the theme: Imagine…A Better Community. In addition to the exposure from the product line feature, each winner receives networking opportunities as well as a trip for two to Toronto with three nights’ accommodation.
The Generation Art collection will be available at EQ3’s Liberty Village flagship location in Toronto beginning September 23, 2014. The complete collection will be available at all EQ3 stores across the nation and online at www.EQ3.com on December 1, 2014.
