Canadian Architect seeks sales manager

An immediate opportunity exists for an experienced, achievement-driven and high-energy sales professional to contribute to the continued growth and success of Canadian Architect magazine and, Canada’s leading architectural journal and website.

Reporting to the Senior Publisher, key responsibilities include: meeting or exceeding of sales targets in a highly competitive market; initiating and leveraging sales opportunities with existing and prospective clients on core and ancillary products; maintaining and growing key client relationships; developing a strong personal market presence and promoting the publication through effective industry networking and advertiser relations, which includes regular participation at trade shows, industry events and conferences; and providing input to and supporting the sales and marketing strategy.

Qualifications for the position are as follows: a proactive and self disciplined work ethic; demonstrated advertising sales achievement within a demanding, fast-paced, professional industry; exceptional customer service skills and an ability to establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with key clients and agency contacts; demonstrated interpersonal and networking skills – strong oral and written communication skills are essential; strong personal sales initiative and demonstrated ability to function effectively individually or as a member of a team; ability to develop and deliver effective customized sales presentations and proposals; demonstrated ability to plan and achieve short and longer-term objectives in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities; analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities; excellent time-management and organizational capabilities; experience in digital marketing strongly recommended; conversational French would be an asset, but is not required; willingness and availability to travel and participate in industry functions as required; must have access to a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
