In March of 2007, the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host Symposium of Housing III: Neighbourhoods are More Than Just Houses. The aim of the symposium is to bring specialists of housing and related disciplines together to exchange research, information and expertise about creating a good residential environment.
A call for papers has been issued for projects related to the topics of the symposium, which include: planning and designing new residential neighbourhoods, the development of existing neighbourhoods’ environments, residents’ participation within the neighbourhood, and local and international experiences and practices. Abstracts should be 200-300 words in English or Arabic, and should indicate objective methodology, discuss findings and conclusions reached. First authors of all accepted papers will receive payment for economy airline tickets and local expenses.
