The Canadian architectural community is invited to submit posters highlighting work, research and/or initiatives toward equity in architecture by Friday, September 9.
The Canadian architectural community is invited to submit posters highlighting work, research and/or initiatives toward equity in architecture.
This poster call is part of CAFÉ Capital – a pan-Canadian series of events to assess, bridge, converse and deliver on equity in architecture. Anyone associated with architectural practice, education and advocacy in Canada may participate, including current and recent students, as well as student groups.
Posters may describe your work toward equity; share your vision for diversity; show a project on inclusion; call for action on social and environmental justice; and/or aim to advance human rights and promote well-being!
Posters will contribute to a national conversation on equity in architecture and be exhibited online – hosted by CASA (the Canadian Architecture Student’s Association) – and in-person at the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism, Carleton University, in Ottawa.
Building on a trio of spring workshops, a CAFÉ Capital open forum will take place from September 29th to October 2, 2022 (online and in-person) at Carleton University. The preliminary schedule is available on the CAFÉ website.
CAFÉ Capital is part of the Canadian Architecture Forums on Education, an ongoing outreach project launched in 2019 to discuss and debate the role of architectural education and research in shaping Canada’s future. CAFÉ is led by the Canadian Council of University Schools of Architecture (CCUSA), and is primarily supported by connections grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
