Brigitte Shim recieves ACCE Lifetime Achievement Award
The Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs (ACCE) has recognized Ms. Brigitte Shim as the recipient of the 2022 ACCE Lifetime Achievement Award.
ACCE, along with title sponsor Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), and in association with the Centre of Entrepreneurship at Centennial College; Ming Pao Daily News; the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade; and PwC Canada, honoured outstanding Chinese Canadian entrepreneurs from across Canada in nine award categories.

Shim is the co-founder of Toronto-based architectural firm Shim-Sutcliffe Architects and a professor at the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. Her captivating and varied work has earned her many awards and recognitions, including the 2021 RAIC Gold Medal, 16 Governor General’s Medals in Architecture as well as the Order of Canada for designing sophisticated structures that represent the best of Canadian design to the world.
ACCE is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1994. Its mission is to encourage entrepreneurship and to strengthen the competitiveness of Chinese Canadian businesses in the global market.
It also seeks to assist Chinese Canadians in developing new businesses by providing quality training in the form of seminars, workshops, conferences and special programs on relevant business topics, as well as a network where members can share resources and provide mutual support. ACCE also assists in facilitating communication between government officials and new businesses.
