Art Toronto: Toronto International Art Fair now on!

Taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Art Toronto: Toronto International Art Fair is Canada’s only modern and contemporary fine art fair, providing unique access to the Canadian art market. Founded in 2000 and an annual fall event, Art Toronto serves as the galvanizing vehicle for the nation’s art world. Considered the country’s must-attend event for art collectors and industry professionals, Art Toronto is the place for galleries wishing to attract a new sophisticated market of collectors, and professionals, and the place to network with a diverse and well connected group of fellow participants. Building on its successful platform as an exceptionally well-serviced and user-friendly fair, Art Toronto presents more than 100 select galleries from across Canada, the US, Europe, China, Japan and Mexico – complemented with special projects, exhibits, a full VIP program and dynamic cultural offerings.

Speakers featured in the Power Talks series this year include: Tom Eccles, Executive Director of the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College; contemporary art curator and critic Chantal Pontbriand; and Julia Dault, a Toronto-born artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

The 2013 Art Toronto opening night preview takes place on Thursday, October 24, 2013 and offers guests exclusive access to view and purchase works at the fair before it opens to the general public. Guests of the opening night preview will also have the opportunity to socialize with artists, gallerists, collectors and art enthusiasts over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The evening is a unique and important benefit for the Art Gallery of Ontario. Funds raised at the event help support the AGO’s compelling exhibition and education programs, with a portion of the proceeds going to purchase works of art at the fair.

The fair runs four solid days, wrapping at the end of Monday, October 28, 2013.
