ART TORONTO: 2011 Toronto International Art Fair starts today!

From Friday, October 28 to Monday, October 31, 2011, ART TORONTO brings you the world. For four days, 109 fine art galleries from 13 countries along with Canada’s leading cultural organizations will assemble at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the 12th annual exhibition and sale of 20th and 21st century artworks. Expect to be excited, provoked and visually stimulated as you step into the largest and most celebrated indoor visual art event in Canada. From artworks by renowned masters to young emerging artists, there is something for every taste and budget.

Art Toronto 2011 marks the most comprehensive and exciting programming in the fair’s history, including Kent Monkman’s latest creation The Art Game, a whimsical life-size maze. Open Space is an area dedicated to featuring large-scale sculptures and installations, while Vidéothèque is the fair’s art video screening space, where films will run continuously during the fair’s public hours of operation. Paul Butler’s Collage Party will produce objects and situations in a wide-range of media, from complex, mixed-media performance art events to the most sublime, intimate form of cut-and-paste collages using nothing more than mass media publications, scissors and adhesives.

Also don’t miss the ever-popular Power Talks, presented by The Power Plant and Canadian Art‘s Now exhibition series. Access to onsite programming, including talks, video screenings and public tours is included with daily Art Toronto admission. A dynamic series of presentations, panels and discussions featuring artists, curators, collectors and gallerists will be on offer.
