At the Association of Registered Interior Designers’ of Ontario (ARIDO) Awards of Excellence, presented at this year’s IIDEX/NeoCon Canada exposition and conference in Toronto, Victor’s new Eco Intelligent Polyester fabric, Martini, was awarded a Gold in the Sustainable Design Category. The fabric is made of sustainable polyester for use in curved ergonomic workplace seating. The proprietary manufacturing methods for Eco Intelligent Polyester were developed in consultation with leading environmental consultancy McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. The material can be recycled perpetually while maintaining safety and similar value. The structural heft and flexibility of the product eliminates the need to apply acrylic backings, which have also prevented the recycling of traditional workplace fabrics. Eco Intelligent Polyester is free of antimony, a heavy metal that has been found to cause cancer and increase the hazards and costs of recycling traditional polyester.
