Ontario’s most outstanding wood buildings will be in focus during “Wood Week in Toronto,” a week-long program of activities organized by Wood WORKS! Ontario from October 15th to 19th, 2006.
“Excellence in wood design is happening right here and we want to show what an innovative, versatile and competitive building material wood is,” says Marianne Berube, Executive Director of Wood WORKS! Ontario.
The Wood WORKS! Awards Gala will be the highlight of the program, taking place on October 16th at the Design Exchange. At the Gala, the winners of the 6th Annual Wood WORKS! Ontario Awards will be announced, and the people and organizations that are pioneering the use of wood in Ontario will be honoured. The Gala promises to be extra special this year with many exciting new winners and guests, as the Gala is held in Toronto for the first time.
The program of activities also includes the unique wood exhibition momentum, designed by Farrow Partnership Architects at the Design Exchange; the educational conference Wood Solutions Fair; and a guided tour to Credit Valley Hospital, winner of Wood WORKS! 2005 Large Institutional Award.
