Deadlines loom for architecture awards and grants from the Canada Council in a variety of categories.
March 1, 2014 is the deadline for the following four awards.
Professional Prix de Rome in Architecture: This 50,000 prize is awarded to a young architectural practitioner of firm that has shown exceptional promise in their first buildings, to travel worldwide. Architecture Grants to Individuals and Firms: These grants are given to architecture professionals to advance public conversation about contemporary Canadian architecture ($20,000 maximum). Ronald J. Thom Award: This $10,000 award is given to a young architect or firm who demonstrates sensitivity to architecture’s allied arts. For more information, please visit www.canadacouncil.ca/en/council/prizes/find-a-prize/prizes/ronald-j-thom-award-for-early-design-achievement

Travel grants are given to architects and independent critics and curators who travel to research an exhibition or publication project, or present their work to the public ($500 – $2,500).
