Taking place on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, Traverse is a night of storytelling by a multidisciplinary panel, presenting outstanding examples of access from the urban environment. This third IN Series event will create awareness, educate, communicate, and foster engagement about topics and issues involving inclusion and accessibility. Panellists will discuss a range of positive experiences in areas such as architectural design, wayfinding, transportation, environmental policy, industrial design, legislation, lighting, acoustics, and playground design, and they will present best practices in the built environment.

Guest panellists include: Luke Anderson, cofounder of StopGap Foundation and professional engineer at the Blackwell Bowick Partnership; Shannon Crossman, artist at Spiral Garden/Centre for the Arts and program coordinator at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital; Nancy La Monica, M.A., B.A. Hons, Ph.D candidate in Human Geography at McMaster University; and Susan Ruptash, B.Arch., OAA, FRAIC, AIA, managing principal of Quadrangle Architects. The panel will be moderated by Colin Clark of the Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD University.

IN Series is a series of public presentations and events on a wide variety of topics from the engaging and thought-provoking field of inclusion: accessibility, health, education, art, culture and design hosted by the Inclusive Design Institute (IDI) at OCAD University. The IDI is a hub of applied research that addresses the challenge of design that is inclusive of the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender and age, including users with disabilities, language needs and various cultural preferences.

This event takes place from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at the Participatory Inclusive Design Lab, Room 4904 of the Inclusive Design Institute at OCAD University, 49 McCaul Street in Toronto.
