Every other year, the City of Toronto holds the Urban Design Awards to acknowledge the significant contribution that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, design students and city builders make to the look and liveability of our city. They recognize a wide range of projects that demonstrate improvements to the built environment and quality of public places in the city, and offers the opportunity to receive city-wide recognition from a jury of urban visionaries.
The 2013 jury includes: Marianne McKenna, Founding Partner, KPMB Architects; Cecelia Paine, Professor of Landscape Architecture and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Guelph; Jeremy Sturgess, Principal, Sturgess Architecture; Eric Turcotte, Partner, Urban Strategies Inc.; and Toronto journalist Matthew Blackett, Publisher and Creative Director of Spacing.
The entry deadline is Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 4:00pm.
Project entry details and complete program information is available at www.toronto.ca/tuda. An awards ceremony will take place on September 11, 2013 to celebrate all entries and announce the winners.
