Toronto Hydro-Electric System unleashes new Business Incentive Program

October 15, 2007
by Canadian Architect

The new Business Incentive Program (BIP) from Toronto Hydro-Electric System promotes electricity-saving renovations to buildings totalling 25,000 square feet or less. It is doing so by offering financial incentives which are available for renovations that reduce peak demand. These Incentives are calculated on a scale ranging from $150/kW to $350/kW.

Eligible buildings include multi-use, commercial, office, retail, restaurant, convenience store, grocery store and hotel properties. Architects are encouraged to incorporate BIP into their plans to reduce their clients ongoing operating costs, to help the environment and to take advantage of the incentives.
