This exhibition is the product of a unique competition, a joint collaboration between the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture and Lafarge North America that challenged Master of Architecture students to design a revolutionary precast building envelope component that utilizes the properties of high-performance concrete.
The resulting ideas, featured in this exhibition, push the concept of enclosure while addressing complications related to molds, casting and precast work. This includes the exhibit centrepiece, the winning design by Pat Danielson and Sam Ostrow that illustrates an innovative living wall concept.
This exhibit will be on display until January 6, 2012. The opening reception takes place Tuesday, November 22 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the AIBC Gallery. Advance reservations are required; please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The AIBC Gallery, located at #100 – 440 Cambie Street, Vancouver, is free and open to the public from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
