In partnership with the DX National Design Conference Ourtopias, York University announces an adjunct conference with the theme of Challenges and Opportunities in a Changing World from June 13-14, 2007.

Whether it is graphic design, industrial design, interior design, fashion design, architectural design, environmental design, urban design, engineering design, or disciplines in new media, design is a constant element in todays society. While graduate-level design education has recently been developing rapidly in Canada, there is a lack of opportunity for Canadian design educators and design graduate students to get together.

The First Canadian National Conference on Graduate Education in Design (DGrad2007) will provide that opportunity. The objectives for the Conference are:

1. to provide a forum for educators and graduate students devoted to the study of design and allow them to share their experience and research in a supportive and encouraging environment;
2. to promote design graduate studies and design education in Canada;
3. to explore the future directions of graduate education in design and research development in Canada.
