Tête Jaune is returning for a second year. For 2015, they are expanding to a second city and extending the length of the show. This means more collaboration with more designers and makers to get their products out in front of a bigger audience.
The goal for Tête Jaune is to raise the bar for products designed and made in the Prairie Provinces. There are so many talented people doing work worth paying attention to. Submit your projects this year and show your work with Tête Jaune!
Tête Jaune takes place at the Storefront in Saskatoon from November 5-7 and 10-14, and at DC3 Art Projects in Edmonton from November 19-22 and 26-29.
The Storefront is a new design gallery and retail space showcasing local art, design and architecture. Filling a gap that exists in Saskatoon’s gallery scene, Storefront focuses on design awareness and education, fostering a demand for the outstanding local designers making work in the city. www.thestorefront.ca
DC3 Art Projects is an Edmonton-based supporter, advocate, producer and promoter of the best of contemporary art. DC3 Art Projects is committed to helping emerging and mid-career artists to bring challenging and engaging work to a greater public through exhibitions, critical writing, travelling shows and international art fairs. www.dc3artprojects.com
In 2014 over one weekend, 18 designers, 47 products, two events, 450 attendees and $5,500 in sales meant that Tête Jaune outperformed expectations in every category. Organizers were so happy with the turnout and the response—both from makers and attendees. With an extended timeframe, Tête Jaune is confident they can build on last year’s success.
Tête Jaune is a small team of people who are interested in helping designers and makers in the Prairie Provinces build successful careers. Their main goal is making sure that participants feel that their involvement was worthwhile. They want to be the platform across the Prairies where people can test new ideas and ready work for larger markets. Their team works with each participant to give advice to find the best way to show and price their work.

The submission deadline is Tuesday, September 15, 2015.
The cost to participate is a $75 showing fee per season. Sales are divided between the designer (70%) with a 30% commission fee. All sales are run through Tête Jaune during the event. Designers and makers will be issued payments after the completion of the event.
