Stantec completes acquisition of CPV Group Architects & Engineers

Stantec Architecture Ltd. has completed the acquisition of Calgary-based CPV Group Architects & Engineers Ltd. (CPV). Founded in 1952, CPV is one of Calgary’s leading architecture, interior design, and structural engineering firms. The addition of over 60 CPV staff to Stantec significantly strengthens the firm’s architecture and interior design practice in western Canada.

CPV provides clients services in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Planning, and Interior Design across a wide range of projects including acute care hospitals, long-term facilities, theatres, educational facilities, office, and industrial projects. CPV will also bring the staff and expertise of their interior design group, WOW Design Ltd., and their structural group, both of which have been an integral part of CPV’s practice for many years.

Over the years CPV has won numerous design awards including the prestigious Governor Generals Award for Architecture for the design of the Nexen Building in Calgary plus numerous national and international design awards. Other well-known local projects designed by CPV are the TD Square building including the Devonian Gardens, the Rockyview General Hospital, the Calgary Roman Catholic District #1 Education Center, the Crowfoot YMCA, the Jubliee Auditorium Renovations, and Canada Olympic Park.

Stantec’s architecture and interior design practice is made up of over 450 employees operating out of Vancouver and Kamloops, British Columbia; Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta; Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Toronto, Ontario as well as in parts of the United States.
