Justin Ford of Hariri Pontarini Architects presents an exhibition of his new work at the Gladstone Hotel Art Bar in Toronto. Fords [Spatial Breakbeat Research] mixes a wide range of mediums architecture, fiction, poetry, music, graphics, animation, web design, visual art, modern dance to create an immersive environment that adds texture and depth to an urban investigation.

Issue 2 entitled Two Shades Darker reveals forward-thinking ideas connecting technology, urbanism, spiritualism, and sustainability. The focus is on spatial experiences studied through a form of fiction.

Existing spatial conditions are examined and enhanced to make the viewer acutely aware of the inherent qualities and possibilities of a particular site. Addressed is our use and often misuse of technology, and the possibilities of attaching a moral conscious or ethical responsibility to it.

Come out to [Spatial Breakbeat Research] Issue 2 Two Shades Darker at the Gladstone Hotels Art Bar on Friday, June 15, 2007 between 7:00pm and 2:00am. This one-night event will display the work of Justin Huang Ford in three variations: framed hung work, comic style booklets, and an interactive animated web environment.

The event also features: DJ_Navi (Spatial Breakbeat Research exclusive set); Sleuth; Jonah K (live p.a.); Capro; Spectabl; and a special modern dance performance by Emma Lu.

Cover charge is pay what you can.
