Scholarships for RAIC Architects to Attend Continuing Education Course on Stone Materials in Verona, Italy

The sixth edition of the Veronafiere’s Continuing Education course, co-sponsored with Stone World magazine, will be held Wednesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 9th, 2004 during MARMOMACC, the world’s leading trade fair for the marble and stone industry.The course, "Designing with Natural Stone" provides a comprehensive overview of architectural stone applications. Architects learn how marble is quarried, treated, cut, selected for specific jobs, and then installed using the latest products and technologies. The course will include field trips to a quarry and stone-cutting factories, a tour of Palladian villas, and ample time for a thorough explanation of MARMOMACC.RAIC architects are eligible to compete for scholarships covering tuition, meals, accommodations and local transportation. Those selected will be responsible for their travel to and from Verona. The RAIC will pay the administration and registration fee for selected architects. Participants should plan to arrive in Verona on Tuesday, October 5th in time for a welcoming dinner and may depart Sunday the 10th.Those RAIC members interested in applying should send a curriculum vitae and a cover letter specifying why they wish to participate no later than June 30, 2004 to Jon Hobbs, Executive Director at jonhobbs@raic.org
