by Canadian Architect

Taking place at the Untitled Art Society’s Satellite Gallery, Room for Tourists is intimately captured by award-winning photographer Heather Saitz, and is an exploration of the architecture, landscape and changing social meaning of the Canadian mid-century motel. Shot over two years across five provinces, Rooms for Tourists visits the nostalgic roadside motel in present day, revealing the rise, fall and resurrection of a cultural icon.

The opening reception takes place on February 15, 2013 from 7:00 to 10:00pm, and the show ends on March 9, 2013. The Gallery is located at 343 – 11 Avenue SW in Calgary. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Presented by VISTEK.
