Established in 1907, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) is a voluntary national association representing 5,200 members in Canada. The RAIC is recognized as the leading voice for excellence in the built environment in Canada, championing sustainable growth and demonstrating how smart design can enhance quality of life, while addressing important issues of society through responsible architecture.
The mission of the RAIC is to promote excellence in the built environment and advocate for responsible architecture. To achieve this, the RAIC is seeking an Executive Director to steer the affairs of the organization in accordance with the strategic direction set by the RAIC Board of Directors.
Reporting to the Board and the Executive Committee, the Executive Director has direct responsibility for the strategic leadership and day-to-day operations of the RAIC. He/she he is responsible for accomplishing the goals and objectives of the organization as outlined in the Key Result Areas (KRA) of the RAIC Strategic Plan and Vision. This includes responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, finance, human resources, stakeholder-relationship management, fundraising and organizing work plans and projects to achieve goals on time and within budget.
The RAIC is looking for an experienced leader with a successful track record leading a formidable organization with a multitude of stakeholders.
Educational qualifications include: a graduate degree in business, management or architectural related discipline or equivalent; and certification/membership with a professional discipline including but not limited to management, architecture, not-for-profit—business administration would be considered an asset.
Experience requirements include proven leadership ability and management track record with 10 or more years of relevant professional experience in a senior leadership/senior administrative/senior management role; significant experience in successfully managing an organization with multiple stakeholders and professionals; previous experience running a national organization would be considered an asset.
