Recently acquired by the Design Exchange, the Fred Moffatt Collection includes an extensive assortment of graphic design, industrial drawings, plans and prototypes spanning Moffatt’s long and successful career. It constitutes a rich source for the study of Canadian design history, while it documents Fred Moffatt’s personal and professional journey from artist to graphic design and illustrator to industrial designer. This archive and collections of objects will serve as the foundation for an exhibition that explores Fred Moffatt’s life and career amidst the changing Canadian design landscape of the 20th century.
The exhibit runs until August 26, 2009 in the Chalmers Design Centre and Teknion Lounge at the Design Exchange in Toronto. Admission is free.
