Mississauga photographers, bloggers, tweeters and hobbyists of all ages, are invited to submit an original image depicting the people and places of Mississauga, and more precisely, what they call uniquely home.
You are invited to submit your favourite picture – captured on professional cameras or cellphones by Friday, April 1, 2011. Internationally renowned artist Gauri Gill will select up to 20 photographs to be included in an exhibition entitled The Mississaugans that will be on view at the Mississauga Central Library alongside the exhibition, The Americans, from May 1-July 31, 2011.
Your photographs will be selected based on some of the ideas conveyed by the exhibition, The Americans, with a focus on images that have a sense of humour, poignancy, irony or a beguiling nature that may also portray a unique view of Mississauga culture. Selected artists will receive on-site acknowledgements for their work in the exhibition and at the opening reception on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
More information is available at www.mississauga.ca/culture or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
