An initiative is underway in Ontario begun by a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) to re-instate architects as part of a list of professionals acceptable as passport guarantors. The list includes dentists, pharmacists, lawyers, and engineers among other professionals. Robert Arnone of the OAA will be taking up the matter with the federal government for consideration to have the list amended. He is requesting that every architect in Canada send him an e-mail, letter or fax to express their support. A unanimous response from the Ontario membership will help Arnone build a successful case for presentation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Architects are requested to submit their name, provinical affiliation, and letter of support to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to (416) 449-5756 or mail them to Robert Arnone, c/o the Ontario Association of Architects, 111 Moatfield Drive, Toronto, Ontario M3B 3L6. Please e-mail Arnone if you would like to use a sample draft letter.
