The OCAD Student Press is an initiative of OCAD design students Ryan Planche and Amy Leaman who devised a plan to collect and publish written works by their peers. The book, Shift:Positions, comprised of essays from Environmental and Industrial Design students in their thesis year at OCAD, was born.
Planche and Leaman have partnered with renowned graphic design firm Hambly and Woolley for the production, and photographer and activist Edward Burtynsky who is contributing the foreword. Shift:Positions is slated to be released in February 2007 with an official launch coinciding with the OCAD Graduate Exhibition in May of 2007.
