One of a Kind Spring Show in Toronto

Taking place once again at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, the One of a Kind Spring Show runs from April 1-5, 2009. Special features this year include:


* One of a Kind Centre Aisle Displays


* One of a Kind April Fool’s Competition: Since the 2009 Spring Show will kick off on April 1st, exhibitors were invited to unleash their inner practical joker and design a competition piece based on the theme of April Fool’s! Cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 will be awarded to the top three winners, and $200 will go to the People’s Choice winner.


* One of a Kind Fairy Tales: A display will be present at the entrance of the show, inviting visitors to be enchanted by magical storybook vignettes.


* One of a Kind Hall of Fame: Visit this display to learn more about the Hall of Fame inductees where quality, craftsmanship and outstanding achievements of the talented artisans are honoured. This year, Rudy Kehkla has been welcomed into this prestigious group!


* Eastern Ontario Artists Marketplace: A brand new section showcases creative talents from rural Eastern Ontario (a region comprised of the area that spans from Lake Simcoe to the Ottawa River and from Lake Ontario to Algonquin Park). Twenty-four artists and artisans from this area – working in the areas such as visual art, fine craft, photography, furniture design, artisanal food – will be featured in the new neighbourhood, the Eastern Ontario Artists Marketplace.


* One of a Kind Neighbourhoods: Be sure to visit all of the One of a Kind Neighbourhoods, such as One of a Kind Flavours, featuring the best in food from across Canada; One of a Kind Fashion District, showcasing hot fashions, prêt-à-porter shows and ready-to-wear, this section highlights cutting edge clothing by first time designers; One of a Kind Rising Stars, featuring the best of new Canadian talent; One of a Kind Green, where you can shop local and shop with a conscience for eco-friendly products for all; and One of a Kind Outdoor, where you can welcome the arrival of spring with the best in outdoor living.
