Goodes Hall, the new home of the Queens University School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, opened this month. The 113,000 square foot facility combines a preserved 1812 schoolhouse with a modern design by The Ventin Group Architects. The preservation of the schoolhouse included the original maple grand staircase, solid maple schoolhouse doors, airy original classrooms with the original wainscotting and pressed tin ceilings. Fully networked classroom desktops, team and meeting rooms, an expansive glass-ceilinged atrium, and state-of-the-art presentation tools were included.
