The Toronto Society of Architects and the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto presents a lecture by Michel Rojkind on June 6, 2012.
Michel Rojkind founded rojkind arquitectos in Mexico City in 2002 with the idea of exploring new challenges that address contemporary society, of designing compelling experiences that go beyond mere functionality, and of connecting at a deeper level with the intricacies of each subject. rojkind arquitectos has won several Honours and Awards, including Interior Design’s Best of Year 2011 Award and Arch Daily’s Building of the Year 2011 Award. The firm was recognized by Architectural Records in 2005 as one of the ten best “Design Vanguard” firms.
Rojkind has lectured in many different countries. Some of his most recent and representative lectures are Architectural Record’s Innovation in 2011, TEDx in 2010, and 3rd Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction in 2010. In 2010 Michel Rojkind was listed by the Los Angeles Times among Faces to Watch in 2010, selected by Emerging Voices New York, named one of the Country’s Treasured Architects by the Mexican Civil Registry, and featured by ProMexico magazine as one of the 50 Mexican Names in the Global Creative Scene. In 2011 he was named by Wallpaper* magazine as one of the 150 movers, shakers, and makers that have rocked the word in the last 15 years.
The lecture takes place from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on June 6, 2012 in Room 103, 230 College Street in Toronto. For more information, please visit www.torontosocietyofarchitects.ca/?q=node/784 or e-mail email@example.com.
