The University of Calgary’s EVDS presents the latest Design Matters lecture by Martin Arfalk, Partner at Mandaworks, an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design office based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Through a detailed exploration of Mandaworks’ projects, Arfalk’s presentation will contribute to the ongoing conversation on city-planning and the role of qualitative public-space design and conceptual narratives in contemporary urban development.
The lecture aims to reveal thoughts, reflections and perspectives on Scandinavia’s interest in urban design and how the role of urban development in community formation have generated a number of competitions, public debates, and design commissions focused on the sustainable city.
The lecture takes place on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the University of Calgary’s Downtown Campus Event Centre, located at 906 8th Avenue SW,
