Brian MacKay-Lyons Architecture Urban Design is the recipient of the American Institute of Architects’ 2003 Honor Award for Architecture for its Howard House project in West Pennant, Nova Scotia. The award will be presented at the annual AIA Convention later this month. In 2002, MacKay-Lyons was named an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (Hon FAIA), an honour given to only seven international architects each year. The firm will soon begin construction on a new office in Halifax’ North End to reflect larger scale institutional projects recently commissioned by Marlboro College in Vermont, University of Toronto, Scarborough, and the Canadian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
