To mark the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall on the south bank of the River Thames in London, an exhibition by the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) entitled Royal Festival Hall Revival runs until October 14, 2007.
The exhibition highlights the ideas and concepts behind the redesign of the Royal Festival Hall, and includes architectural drawings and models by Allies and Morrison, the architects responsible for developing this world-class music venue. Also on view are newly commissioned photographs by Dennis Gilbert, film footage of the redevelopment, as well as archival drawings and photographs of the original 1951 building.
Admission is free to this exhibition in the V&A Architecture Gallery.
