The closing reception and silent auction for photographs from the Art Gallery of Albertas Capital Modern exhibition takes place on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Take home a piece of history!
Capital Modern features 54 new colour photographs by internationally renowned photographer James Dow. These photographs are unique, having been commissioned by the Art Gallery of Alberta and created specifically for the Capital Modern exhibition. Meet curators David Murray, Shafraaz Kaba, and Troy Smith while viewing these beautiful images of some of Edmontons most outstanding Modern architecture.
James Dow has generously offered all of his photographs for auction as a way to raise funds to support the AGAs ongoing programming in architecture and design. Over the course of theexhibition, visitors have bid on their favourite photographs in a silent auction that will close at the end of a special reception on Saturday, August 25. Bidding began at $100 per image and continues throughout the exhibition, with some photographs purchased instantly with a Buy Now bid of $500.
This is the last chance to see James Dows stunning photography and meet the people who were instrumental in showcasing Edmontons Modern architecture. The exhibition ends on Sunday, August 26, 2007.
